You can either relax among the lodge grounds amid the peace and serenity we wish to offer or partake in the myriad of activities to enhance your stay in Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge. Explore indigenous forest and it’s inhabitants on a nature walk, enjoy a refreshing swim in the 30 meter pool, have a go at fly fishing, boating in the cool waters of the clear lake or horse ride under the tree canopy.
Explore the fifty acres of forest, lake and beautiful gardens which will reveal an array of indigenous and exotic flora and fauna. Cold water springs rising in the forest feed a crystal clear lake home to many kinds of frogs, fresh water crabs and fish including barbel, sword-tails and trout.Troops of Sykes monkeys and black and white colobus monkeys are to be seen in the forest. This rich habitat attracts a great diversity of bird species. If you are a herpetologist you will enjoy the species diversity along the lake shore.
Of over 500 species of birds that occur in the Arusha area over 200 can be observed around Ngare Sero forest, lake and beautiful gardens. Our bird list includes 16 species of herons, fish eagles, hornbills and many others. We also offer to show ornithologists other great locations for bird watching in the diverse habitats on the slopes of Mount Meru.
Learn riding with one of our five horses on the lodge grounds or go around the village trails on the green hilly slopes of Mount Meru.

Swim or relax in the 30 metre pool amid the colourful gardens of ginger, bougainvillea, heliconia and jacaranda trees, with a splendid view of Mount Meru. Please ask for a towel at the reception.
Enjoy a tranquil cruise on our private lake in our home built punt, which can seat up to 8 people. Take a bottle of wine to enjoy on the water.

This 70 square meter space has floor to ceiling netted windows which give way to the sounds and views of the surrounding tropical forest and protect from mosquitos during early morning or evening yoga sessions.
With 180 degree view of the tranquil lake with sounds & smells of nature & abundance of birds is bound to calm your mind during your outdoor yoga & meditation practice.
This 55 square meter tented pavilion lies amidst peaceful, tropical gardens above the lake. It is ideal for late morning or afternoon practice.
Explore the vast slopes of Mt Meru on a mountain bike. On request only we offer individual Mountainbike tours from 1hr to half day trips. These trips are not suited for beginners. All bikes are full suspension Fox/Rock Shox equipped. From 25km 250 meter Altitude gain to 50km 1000m we can customize each tour according to temperature, terrain, experience levels. Please ask in advance.

Enjoy or learn to play a relaxing game of croquet while sipping a drink of choice.
Try your hand at still water fly-fishing for specimen rainbow trout. Bring your own fly rod or use one of ours. Our record catch so far is 3.6kg or 8lbs. Please note that we have recently stocked many small trout in the lake, so please release any fish below 2lbs or 1kg. Take your catch to the kitchen where we can prepare it to your liking.
